This are two pictures of the region of ALNITAK in Orion. Alnitak is the left star of the belt of Orion.
When I made my last picture with the Sharpstar 76mm EDPH of Alnitak I captured a blue reflection nebula around him. The two stars right of Alnitak do show such structures as well!
I made in the springtime another picture with the Sharpstar 8" Astrograph, where I see similar structures but not the same blue color.
I do have now the following question to the Astrobin community:
Is this an artefact or is this blue nebulosity real?? I found only a very old picture from Mount Palomar scope which is black and white only with similar structures!
I did not see any such structures on most of the pictures in Astrobin which I looked for.
Most of them are done to show the neighboring nebula and not the small reflection nebula.
